A person named AdiShankara revived this idol or shrine and re-converted it into a Hindu temple (Vishnu temple).

The temple has undergone several reconstructions or renovations due to its age and damage caused by an avalanche. The Kings of Garhwal, in the 17th century, expanded the temple. After significant damage during the great earthquake, it was largely rebuilt by Jaipur’s king. It was still under renovation or reconstruction as late as 1870, but these were completed by the time of world warI.

In 2006, the state government announced the area around Badrinath as a no-construction zone to curb illegal encroachment.

Inside Badrinath temple

Inside the mandap, there are massive pillars and pillared halls, which are enormous; those halls lead to the main idol or shrine area. All the walls and pillars are carved with paintings and carvings.

Devi Parvatiparvati’s heart melted seeing the baby; Lord shiva and Devi Parvati had no idea about the baby’s origin and no idea about his parents.

When Devi was going to pick the baby up, Lord shiva interrupted and told them not to pick it up. Devi Parvati replied it was very cruel of him to make this baby visit their home and let it out without anyone’s help. Lord shiva again interrupted as he knew the consequences.

Devi took the baby to a shelter, fed the baby and went for a bath along with lord shiva. When they came back, they found the door locked, and Lord shiva told her he knew about the consequences and he could not harm the baby as Devi had her heart on the baby. They both roam the place finding a home.
