She took the form of an unmarried woman, Kumari. Upon seeing her beauty, Lord Shiva fell in love with her and wanted to marry her. As per the legends, her birth happened for the assassination of the demon. So, sage NaradaDevised a plan and stopped the marriage abruptly. Lord Shiva returned half-heartedly, and Kumari decided not to marry again. Demon Banasura also fell in love with her and wanted to get her forcibly. At this point, Kumari killed Banasura with her chakra.
